I visited the Shanghai Expo site on Wednesday, a few weeks before its official opening at the end of April. Feverish work is being done 24/7 and there is still much to be done. But I have no doubt that all will be completed in time and the sky will be blue. The scale is massive, bigger than any previous expo.
The Singapore Pavilion is modestly sized and quite exquisite. It is round, shaped like a music box, light and airy inside, welcoming. From the Lupu Bridge, the 3-D roof garden can be seen from afar. The pavilion itself is well located next to a circular piazza. Next to it will be a kiosk serving Singapore food like chicken rice and satay.
