Perhaps no foreign university has the reputation which Harvard enjoys in China. Over the years, professors from different Harvard schools had helped educate generations of Chinese students and given advice to the Chinese Government in fields like medicine, education, public administration and business management. While in Shanghai, I attended the opening of the Harvard Center which was made possible by the gifts of Raymond Kwok of Sun Hung Kai and others. The lecture room is almost exactly the same as the ones I sat in at the Harvard Business School, only that there is a translation booth at the back and the blackboards are wider to allow simultaneous translation into Chinese. I attended a meeting of the Asian Advisory Board of HBS in the afternoon and dinner hosted by Harvard President Drew Faust.
